Special Event and Park Rental applications

Chisholm park club house is rentable to the public

 

General Information

The City of Salida’s Parks, Pavilions, and Courts are perfect for hosting gatherings or Special Events.

At 12:00pm on October 1st, rental and event requests can be made for the following year. Be sure to apply early because park space can be limited, and conflicts will be reviewed by staff over the next 7-10 business days.

Park, court or other amenity rentals

City amenities, like parks space, the pool, pavilions, grills, courts or other resources are available to rent for exclusive use or to use for individual benefit.

Special Events

A Special Event is

  • On public property
  • When the expected number of participants and spectators totals 50 or more people; and/or
  • An event with more than 1 vendor; and/or
  • When providing, selling or distributing alcohol and/or food to the public; and/or
  • When closing a street/sidewalk or using public right of ways (e.g., city streets, multi-use paths and sidewalks, boat ramps, etc.), and/or impacting vehicle, bike or bus traffic and/or
  •  When the event last multiple days and/or
  • If the event intends to violate a City ordinance (ex. include dogs in a park)

In addition to a Rental Application, you might need to fill out one of the applications/permits linked below. Our staff will let you know which form is applicable to you and your event after you fill out the Rental Application.

Prior approval timeline

  • Private event: by invitation only, ex: celebration/birthday party (14 days notice)
  • Public Event: Free and open to the public, ex: concerts/festivals (60-90 days notice)
  • Closing a Public right of way (parade) : street, sidewalk, other. (30 days notice)
  • Admission Based Event: A paid ticket or reservation is required for entry (60-90 days notice)
  • Sports Tournament (30 days notice)
  • Race: A race event that can include walking, running, biking, etc. (60 days notice)
  • Assembly/First Amendment Activity (recommended 3 business days notice)
  • Commercial activity: any activity that has paying participants - classes, camps, tours, etc. (60 days notice)

Rules and Standards

Please fully understand these Park Rental Rules before you rent a park so that you can get your damage deposit back.

You will NOT be able to have your event if it does not comply with Chaffee County Public Health orders.

If you do not comply with staff requests and directions, you may lose the opportunity to rent a park or hold an event in the future.
