The City of Salida’s Parks and Recreation Department manages over 400 acres of Open Space, 36 acres of parks and over 5.5 miles of trails in town. To learn how to rent one of Salida’s many beautiful parks, pavilions, or facilities, visit our park rental page

Park Rules

The following rules are enforced unless prior City approval and a permit has been obtained:

  • City parks closes at 10 p.m. - Events also must end at 10 p.m.
  • No amplified sound without a special permit.
  • No alcohol allowed without a special permit. Permits are only issued to non-profits and events permitting alcohol required liquor liability coverage, which must be included in your special event application.
  • No dogs.
  • No camping.
  • No glass containers.
  • Plan to leave the pavilion as clean or cleaner than you found it. Cleaning supplies are not provided by the City. 
  • Do not use tape, pins, nails etc. on the walls. 
  • Store tables and chairs in the designated areas, if it is applicable to your park rental. 
  • Take the trash with you when you leave. 
  • Turn off all the inside and outside lights and ceiling fans when you leave, as it is applicable to your park rental. 
  • Pick up and return the keys to the Parks and Recreation Department in the Salida Hot Springs and Aquatic Center. If the key is not returned, the damage deposit will be kept. 
  • Do not drive any objects into the ground. 
  • Wheeled carriers (except in designated areas) is prohibited.
