Alisa Pappenfort came to Salida in the bicentennial year to raise her young daughter in a beautiful, safe small town. Her daughter rode in the basket on her old Schwinn and thereby learned to hold on tight as they dodged potholes. Pappenfort has made a living by typesetting, waiting tables, accounting, exporting locally produced plant bands, selling products ranging from natural goods to custom jewelry. She was the recorder of land legals for Chaffee, managed contracts for the federal government, served as director of domestic violence program and almost won her bid for office in 2015.
Alisa prides herself on life-long learning, on serving the public, and being a multi-generational mother whose youngest is 19. She loves playing in the dirt with plants and creative cooking. She works full-time as the financial administrator for a local non-profit.
