Community Service Division

The Mission of the Community Service Division is to provide safety and public service to the citizens of Salida while protecting the welfare of domestic animals, as well as maintaining the integrity of the Salida City Code through education and enforcement.

Duties of Community Service Staff

The civilian community service positions will primarily focus on non-emergency calls, including:

  • ​Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspections
  • Animal control
  • Parking enforcement
  • Property issues
  • Found property

In any case where an animal is impounded, the owner is responsible for any impound fees and subject to a possible citation.

Before a Home Project Begins

Contact the Community Service Division or the Public Works Department prior to starting any projects. This will facilitate better cooperation and avoid project conflicts or property code violations. Any questions regarding fees should be directed to Salida City Hall at 719-539-4555.
