Meet Sara Law

Headshot of Sara Law

Meet Sara Law, Salida’s Deputy City Clerk. She may be new to her city clerk role, but she’s no stranger to Salida – or working for the City. Get to know her a little better and learn what she’s most excited to accomplish as the City’s first deputy city clerk.

How long have you been a Salida employee?

I have been an employee with the City of Salida since August of 2019. I was initially brought on to be the Recreation Supervisor for the Parks and Rec Department. I helped put on Recreation programs like Gymnastics, Science for Kids and Fridays at the Fairgrounds before the pandemic, wrote grants to fund our Skatepark and worked on putting on virtual/outside classes and events during the pandemic.

What are you most excited about in your new/current role as Deputy City Clerk?

I think I am most excited about my ability to serve even more of my community in my new role!

What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?

I think Special Events will be an exciting project to work on with all of our different City departments. I look forward to streamlining that process for our citizens trying to throw a Special Event and our own City staff.

What’s your favorite part of working for the City?

My coworkers in both departments have been amazing and I am excited that I get to continue supporting our City in a new way!

Where’s your favorite place to go, or do, in Salida?

Being in Parks and Rec before this, I would be remiss if I didn't say that our Parks are probably my favorite place in Salida. I am particularly partial to Marvin Park and love walking along the River trail.
