Get to Know Mayor Dan Shore

Headshot of Mayor Dan Shore

Mayor Dan Shore was elected to serve as the Mayor of Salida for a two-year term beginning in November. When asked about his time in Salida and what he sees for the future of the community, here’s what he had to say:

I moved to Salida with my wife, Jill, and son, Gunnar, 11 years ago. We were drawn to the small-town feel and sense of community. In addition, we fell in love with the natural beauty and access to the outdoors.

After spending 30 years in the mutual fund business, I was ready for a change. Having moved around so much because of my career, I previously never had the opportunity to be really invested in my community. When I was approached about running for council four years ago, I began to get really excited. Salida had been so good for my family, and I felt compelled to give back.

After spending four years on City Council, the idea of running for mayor was appealing. Salida is faced with both challenges and opportunities. I truly believe that we can rise to the occasion in collaboration with such a strong, capable council and staff. We can plan a thoughtful way forward in conjunction with the community

My commitment to the community is to be open, available, and fair. I truly want to hear from you!
