The Salida Police Department is responsible for protecting the lives, property, and businesses of both Salida residents and our guests. The Salida Police Department is dedicated to serving all by responding to calls for police service, enforcing state and local laws or ordinances, conducting preventative patrol activities, performing criminal investigations, promoting traffic safety, and apprehending criminal and traffic offenders.

Code Enforcement Operations
Our Code Enforcement Division handles the following:
- Animal complaints
- Parking enforcement
- Enforcement of property code violations
The Salida Police Department is accredited via the Professional Standards Compliance Award, which recognizes outstanding police and sheriff departments throughout Colorado based on 186 established professional standards. The accreditation program is sanctioned by the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) and the County Sheriffs of Colorado, which represent all local and county law enforcement in Colorado.
