The Comprehensive Plan is the City’s primary long-range plan. The City also adopts and maintains other long-range plans for particular areas or topics. The following plans and reports have been created in recent years as part of the long-range planning efforts of the City.
The City’s Comprehensive Plan update was adopted on April 16, 2013. The complete Comprehensive Plan is available below and the individual chapters are listed on the right side of this page under related files.
Housing Needs Assessment 2007 – This report was prepared by Economic & Planning Systems to evaluate the housing needs throughout the County.
Strategic Housing Plan – This 2008 plan identifies strategies and goals for addressing the growing need for affordable housing for Salida’s working residents and seniors.
Comprehensive Plan –
The Comprehensive Plan, last updated in 2013, serves as a general guide for the development of the community.
Downtown Design Guidelines – These guidelines
are intended to help an applicant design an appropriate project
within the Downtown Historic District.
Sacketts Addition Design Requirements and Recommendations – This document provides background information on the neighborhood and helps explain the requirements of the overlay. There are also design recommendations that, if followed, should ensure that new construction is compatible with the neighborhood.
Historic Downtown Improvement and Economic Sustainability Plan – This document, adopted in 2007, identifies policies, strategies and action items to help implement the vision for downtown.
Highway Corridor Improvement Plan – This plan identifies details about required improvements along the Highway 50 Corridor as well as information about the wayfinding design and gateway concepts.
2010 Regional Planning IGA – The Joint Planning IGA amended in 2010 addressing planning and development in the areas surrounding Salida.
Joint Planning Map 2010 – Shows the growth area and planning areas around Salida addressed in the IGA.
This Salida Regional Transportation Plan adopted in 2009 provides guidance for future transposrtation routes and streetscape design. In addition, the plan identifies critical intersections and transportation connections that should be improved. The plan is focused on transportation needs in the planning areas surrounding the City of Salida.
