Chaffee County Public Health to Host COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall
Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) plans to host a virtual town hall that will provide the community with COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) information and guidance on Friday, March 13th at 3pm on Facebook Live. The town hall will be recorded and shared with the local media. Representatives from Chaffee County Public Health, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Chaffee County Emergency Medical Services, and Solvista Health will be answering questions on how Chaffee County can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses as well as how to be prepared for a local outbreak. “At the time of this press release, there are no positive cases of COVID-19 in Chaffee County. However, we want our community to have the latest information and resources regarding COVID-19 and a venue to ask questions about this active situation. Because social distancing is a proven strategy to prevent the spread of illnesses, especially COVID-19, we have decided to try a live virtual town hall format. There are measures that we can all take now to help prevent and be prepared for COVID-19,” states Andrea Carlstrom, Director of Chaffee County Public Health. Town hall planners are working to secure sign language and Spanish interpretation at the event. The event will be streamed live on the newly created Chaffee County COVID-19 Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pg/COVID19ChaffeeCounty.
