On June 14th, 2018 the Salida City Council approved Ordinance Number 10 series 2018 banning fireworks and outdoor flames. The ban was to remain in effect until conditions improved.
The Salida Ranger District, effective today, completely rescinded their fire restrictions based on scientific data.
In an effort to mirror this action and prevent confusion, the Salida Fire Chief recommends that the ban is no longer necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the city and should be rescinded effective immediately.
The Independence fireworks display that was postponed has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 25th at dusk.
