The 2018 irrigation season has arrived. You are encouraged to follow the voluntary restrictions similar to past years. These include: even street address watering on even numbered days and odd on odd days and not watering between 10:00am. and 4:00pm.
Keep in mind if you water during the heat of the day, you may lose approximately 50% of the water to evaporation. Alternating days will help balance water production at the treatment plants, ensures redundancy, and provides ideal water pressure in the system. These measures help reduce the potential for watering restrictions.
As a side note, the city plans to be flushing hydrants in the near future. Although this uses system water, it is necessary to ensure reliable service of the hydrants and maintain water quality in the distribution system.
