Atmos Energy crews have completed the initial stage of restoring gas service to Salida and Poncha springs. Working through the night, crews were able to safety turn off each meter, in preparation to restore service. Beginning this morning and continuing over the next few days crews will be working around the clock in shifts to safely restore gas service and relight the appliances of affected customers with priority given to customers such as hospitals and other key facilities. A majority of crews will be working in the late afternoon and evening hours in an attempt to meet residents returning home from work.
As technicians will be working through the night, Atmos Energy has asked that customers leave lights on to signify that they are home and available for a technician to restore service. Once the work has been done, the lights will be turned off.
