Salida River Trail Ribbon Cutting & Volunteer Day

The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the Salida River Trail will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Riverside Park, Salida, Colorado. The new river trail connects McCormick Park, Riverside Park, Salida Whitewater Park, Salida Skate Park, Marvin Park, Sands Lake, Frantz Lake, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Open Space Areas and the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area.
We also invite you to the volunteer work day to complete the finishing touches on the new river trail. Volunteers will be helping to plant trees and re-seed disturbed areas. All equipment will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, water and sunscreen. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9:00 A.M on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at McCormick Park behind City Hall. An after party and lunch will be provided at River’s Edge for participating volunteers.
