Come see your new playground!
The City of Salida is proud to host another playground ribbon cutting at 10am on Friday, April 17th at Marvin Park (On Hwy 291 by the baseball fields). The Salida City Council has committed to the replacement of all of the city playgrounds, one per year over the next several years. The funds for the play structures come from the City’s Conservation Trust Fund (CTF). These funds are the City’s share of proceeds from the Colorado Lottery. CTF funds are given to communities based on a per capita formula and Salida receives approximately $50,000 per year. These funds are restricted for capital uses and are not for maintenance or equipment such as vehicles. In 2014 the play structures at Chislom Park were replaced and much enjoyed by the neighborhood.
