Utility Customers Encouraged to Use Electronic Options

Paperless billing was one of several changes implemented by the City of Salida to improve customer service, increase operating efficiencies and control costs. A bill is still generated, but it is emailed to you instead of being sent by the US Postal Service. 

Almost 9% of the March bills are being delivered by email, saving the rate payers the costs of postage, paper, copier maintenance and staff time.

If you wish to no longer receive a hard copy of your bill, you may sign up to receive your bill electronically with an email to utilities@cityofsalida.com. Be sure to include your name and account number(s).

Or, you may go through the web portal to get started. To access the web portal from our website, look under Hot Topics on the right side of the homepage and click online bill-pay for utilities and court. Once you set up your profile you will need your account number(s) and the amount of your last payment(s) to link your utility account(s) to your profile. You will then be able to access your account information whenever it is most convenient. This new system allows you to see your consumption and previous charges, pay your bill and sign up for paperless billing.

 Another way customers can help the City control costs is to sign up for ACH payment processing. The Automated Clearing House is an electronic network for financial transactions, which the City has been using since 2009. Now is the perfect time to sign up if you have not already done so. Bills are now less on a monthly basis and, therefore, a little easier to budget. You can access the ACH Authorization form on the website to fill out and return to City Hall. Email the form to utilities@cityofsalida.com, fax it to 719-539-5271 or simply mail or drop it off in person.

Please remember that second notices for late bills are not longer mailed. Late fees are be assessed on your account if the City has not received payment by the due date and appear as a balance forward on the next monthly bill. Accounts carrying a balance in excess of 45 days are subject to shut off.
