Salida, Colorado – The City of Salida is proud to host another playground ribbon cutting at 11 am on Friday, November 7th at Chisholm Park. Chisholm Park is located Hunt Street between Maxwell and Chilcott Streets. The Salida City Council has committed to replacement of all of the city playgrounds, one per year over the next several years utilizing the City’s Conservation Trust Fund (CTF).
CTF funds are the City’s share of proceeds from the Colorado Lottery and are dedicated funds to be spent on capital improvement of city parks and open space. CTF funds are given to communities based on a per capita formula and Salida receives approximately $50,000 per year.
The play structures at Centennial Park were also replaced in 2014 and new playground equipment in Marvin Park will be installed in 2015.
