New Face at City Hall

The City of Salida is delighted to welcome Christian Samora as the newly hired Deputy City Clerk. Samora’s first day with the City was Tuesday, August 12th.

Samora was the Town Clerk & Treasurer for the Town of Center, Colorado since May 2011 and was responsible for records management, elections, financial management, human resources, municipal court, liquor licensing, open records, and working directly with elected officials and the citizens of Center.

He has over six years of local government experience working in elections, records management, liquor licensing and elected official support.  Samora is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration through Trinidad State and Adams State University.  Additionally, he has served on various committees including the Downtown Revitalization Committee for the Town of Saguache.

Samora was born and raised in the San Luis Valley and said he has always been very fond of Salida and the surrounding area. Being an avid mountain biker and antique collector, he is very excited to become acquainted with the community and experience all that Salida has to offer.

“I am very pleased to be a part of the community and look forward to working with the citizens of Salida and City Officials.  Salida has always been a community that I wanted to be a part of, so I am excited to be here and have the opportunity to work with the community as well.”  he said.
