Updated: H Street Closure Begins April 7 for Electric Line Work

Xcel Energy will close H Street Monday, April 7th beginning at 3rd street and proceeding south to relocate electric lines in advance preparation for the H Street Project. This work is expected to take approximately two weeks. Xcel is not anticipating any electrical outages due to the project.  When the closure of the intersection at 4th and H streets occurs, alternate access to Hylton Lumber can be made from 3rd Street on the west side of the Hylton steel shop or through the gate on 5th Street through the Hylton lumber yard.

Bob Salmi, Public Works Director, said there will be open trenches within the street during construction; for public safety, the street must be closed.

We appreciate the patience of the public during this transitional period.  Project information is available on the City’s website at https://cityofsalida.com/projects/h-street-reconstruction/ as well as by calling Public Works at 539-6257. Any questions can be directed to Public Works or by calling KJ Plewes with Xcel at 539-5128.
