Xcel has 8th Street from G to H St closed for electric line relocation for the upcoming H Street rehabilitation project. The street is anticipated to reopen today. More street closure may follow later today. If this happens, Public Works will alert the public to the best of our abilities.
Xcel will be going all the way up to Hwy 50 during this project to prepare for the possible next phase of the project. They are anticipating having each block closed for a week at a time, excluding 5th to 6th as the work there is more time consuming. At this time, 5th St will be put on hold as Xcel is waiting on material. During the day Xcel will have the street closed off completely but before the end of the work day they are trying to close the trench so residents can access their property.
We appreciate the patience of the public during this transitional period. Project information is available on the City’s website at https://cityofsalida.com/projects/h-street-reconstruction/ as well as by calling Public Works at 539-6257. Any questions can be directed to Public Works or by calling KJ Plewes with Xcel at 539-5128.
