Former Councilman Jim McCormick will have a park dedicated in his honor this coming Monday, August 19 at 4pm.
The Park is located behind the City Hall side of the Touber Building (448 E 1st St.) along the Arkansas River.
After years of service to the community, including serving almost 8 years on the Salida City Council representing Ward 1, Councilman McCormick left his post on June 7 to spend more time with his family.
A native of Canon City, Mr. McCormick has lived in Salida over 50 years. During that time he has dedicated many hours to serving the community, including serving as Treasurer for the Upper Arkansas Water Conservation District. His business career includes 15 years selling recreation equipment, 15 years as a homebuilder and 20 years as a flat roof contractor.
Please join us in showing appreciation and giving thanks to Jimmy’s many years of service to the community.
