Election Update

The City of Salida will begin counting ballots for the special municipal election on Election Day, January 15, 2013.

Voters who have not received a ballot and are registered voters in the city limits should contact Audrey Gilpin, designated election official, at 530-2630 or in person at City Hall, 448 East First Street, Suite 112. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (except holidays) and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters need to place postage on their return envelope. Voters may also drop off their ballots at the Clerk’s office at 448 East First Street, Suite 112. Ballots that are not received by 7 p.m. on Election Day (January 15) will not be counted.

No write-in candidate affidavits were returned to City Hall by the December 26 deadline; therefore, there are no write-in candidates.

There are approximately 1,000 inactive voters in the City of Salida. These voters were not be mailed a ballot for this election. To check your voter registration status online, go to www.GoVoteColorado.com. Inactive voters may visit the Clerk’s office to update their information and be issued a ballot.
