Ballots were mailed Monday, December 24, 2012, to approximately 3,200 active registered voters for the January 15, 2013 City of Salida Special Municipal Election.
Voters who do not receive a ballot soon should contact the Clerk’s Office at 530-2630 or in person at City Hall, 448 East First Street, Suite 112. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (except holidays) and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Voters need to place postage on their return envelope. Voters may also drop off their ballots at the Clerk’s office at 448 East First Street, Suite 112. Ballots that are not received by 7 p.m. on Election Day (January 15) will not be counted.
No write-in candidate affidavits were returned to City Hall by the December 26 deadline; therefore, there are no write-in candidates.
There are approximately 1,000 inactive voters in the City of Salida. These voters will not be mailed a ballot for this election. To check your voter registration status online, go to www.GoVoteColorado.com. Inactive voters may visit the Clerk’s office to update their information and be issued a ballot.
Regardless of your choice on Question 1, you may vote on Question 2. Vote for no more than eleven (11) candidates on Question 2. An over vote on Question 2 will not void Question 1. If you vote for less than eleven (11) candidates on Question 2, your vote on that question will count.
