Highway 50 Streetscape Project Phase III

Work is moving quickly up on Highway 50 thanks to the efforts of our contractor ACA Products, Inc. The curb and Gutter, the sidewalks and colored parkways, along with the electrical conduit and the street light foundations are complete on the south side of the highway.  On the north side, all the electrical conduit and the street light foundations are installed and they are about 50% complete with the curb and gutter, sidewalks , and colored parkway. Over the next two weeks we will see all the sidewalks and parkway complete.

ACA Products, Inc. is also completing the highway enhancements on the frontage of the New Town and Country Auto Dealership, which is being funded completely by Town and Country and is not part of the City project. Next month, we are expecting the new pedestrian island with crosswalk to be complete.

This portion of the project is Phase III of a Four Phase project being funded in large part with Federal Highway dollars and a smaller match by the City.

Starting Wednesday, April 1, the northern most lane and the southern most lane of Hwy 50 will be closed to traffic from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.  There will be one lane traffic in either direction during construction until the south side is completed.  Please drive safely.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Motorists can expect mostly one-lane traffic construction, with one lane of traffic coned and barreled off for construction work and traffic safety.  Speed limits will remain at the existing 40 MPH. There may be some weekend work, if necessary. One access to each business will be open during construction.  Please use caution when entering and exiting businesses/residences along Hwy 50.  Some accesses may be closed for two to three weeks, but at least one-half access will remain open to all businesses at all times.  Thank you for going Slow for the Cone Zone!
