The City of Salida public works department is offering guidelines for water customers concerned about frozen meters. The sustained period of colder weather increases the risk that water meters will fail, causing a disruption of water service. The highest risk of freezing continues in the days following severely cold weather when the frost level deepens.

Water and sewer customers of the City of Salida will notice their latest bill looks a little different. The City’s fourth quarter billing was prepared using a new “press and seal” machine that eliminated over thirty hours of manual folding, envelope stuffing and sealing.

The City encourages residents to support local businesses. The City of Salida depends on sales tax. When business is down for our local vendors, the city’s budget for capital investments and operations suffers. This is a major challenge in our financial structure.
