Salida Fire Collecting Donations For Fireworks Saturday, June 24

The City of Salida Fire Department will be out crisscrossing Salida streets in their fire apparatus this Saturday, June 24 beginning at 5:30 P.M. accepting donations to support the Independence Day fireworks display. Smoke in Arkansas Valley

The visible smoke in the Arkansas Valley today is blowing in from the west as a result of the Brian Head wildfire in southwestern Utah.  There are not currently any wildfires in the Chaffee County area to cause concern.  If you see active flames, please call Salida dispatch at 719-539-2596. more »

Message from the Mayor

On June 13, 2017 the Chaffee County District Court dismissed Walt Harder’s lawsuit against the City with prejudice.  Based on the dismissal agreement, Harder cannot refile or appeal the case.   On August 11, 2016 Harder originally sued the City, the City Clerk, the Deputy City Clerk, the Mayor and all six of the elected City Councilmembers. ... more »
