Wastewater Treatment Plant construction began September 28, 2011 with mobilization, excavation and demolition of old equipment. During the last four months, 40,000 yards of earth have been removed from the site and stored on property owned by Larry Hughes to use for future backfilling around the new treatment system.

Audrey Gilpin has been selected to serve as the new Deputy City Clerk for the City of Salida, Interim City Administrator Dara MacDonald announced Friday.
Starting with the City in November 2011, Gilpin has served as the administrative assistant as well as acting deputy city clerk. Previously, Gilpin was a reporter for The Mountain Mail.
