It's happened other places and it could happen here. Second, it encourages people to report any good-faith suspicions of fraud, abuse or misuse of City property and lets people know the City has a process to investigate such reports.
Does Salida need a fraud policy? We hope that the Fraud Detection and Prevention Policy will raise the awareness of employees, elected officials and citizens to possibly improprieties and that it will strengthen the public's confidence in the integrity of city government.
