Does Salida have watering restrictions?

Outside watering between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm is strongly discouraged. Watering during the heat of the day is less efficient than at cooler times. You will lose up to 50% of the water to evaporation watering in the middle of the day.

The City adopted a Water Conservation Plan in 2008 and, historically, implemented mandatory watering restrictions from April 15 through October 15. In 2011, watering restrictions were made voluntary on a trial basis. The change to “voluntary restrictions” did not have an adverse effect on the city’s water supply and usage patterns, and no mandatory restrictions have been enacted since that time.
