The Tree Board attempts to respect the wishes of home owners as to species. We encourage to browse through Salida Trees to get ideas. However, availability, correct sizing and other considerations will be the final determinate. The Tree Board has final authority as to species. more »

Does the tree in front of my house belong to me or the city?

Street trees are the property of the city, however, it is a team effort. As a homeowner you are required to give the tree at your home basic care i.e. regular watering. The police department will have an officer do a civil stand-by for up to 10 minutes. Arrangements need to be made several hours in advance if possible by calling either the office at 719-539-6880 or Dispatch at 719-539-2596. Can I obtain a set of fingerprints from the PD?

The Salida Police Department does not fingerprint adults. You will need to contact the Chaffee County Jail, here in Salida, 719-539-7150, to make an appointment.
