Meeting about the Comprehensive Plan

The Planning Commission conducts regular meetings on the second Tuesday and the fourth Monday of each month. Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers at 448 E. First Street, Suite 190 and begin at 6:00 p.m. All meetings of the Planning Commission are open and the public is welcome to attend.

Meetings on the second Tuesday of the month are typically work sessions to discuss ongoing projects or upcoming public hearings. Public hearings are held during the meeting on the fourth Monday of each month.

Commission Responsibilities

The powers and responsibilities of the Planning Commission are outlined in the Municipal Code. Some of these responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, maintain and revise Salida's Master Plan
  • Implement provisions of the Land Use Code
  • Study and recommend zoning amendments and classifications to City Council
  • Collaborate with various governmental agencies charged with planning and zoning responsibilities
