S-CENTRAL COLORADO ― The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be making repairs to US Highway (US) 50 next week. Maintenance crews will be working east of Salida for the entire week, Monday, November 13 – 17. Work will primarily consist of adding material to the shoulders to repair drop offs along US 50 between Salida and Coaldale, making the highway safer.
HIGHWAY TRAVEL IMPACTS: Beginning Monday, November 13 motorists will encounter brief delays of 15 to 20 minutes and one-lane, alternating traffic on US 50, MP 226 to MP 241, from the Chaffee – Fremont County line to the town of Coaldale. Motorists should be aware of traffic control flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and along this 15 mile stretch of roadway. The traveling public is urged to obey signage and speed reductions of 40 MPH through the work zone. The maintenance operations are expected to be completed by the end of the work day Friday, November 17.
