The City of Salida Public Works Department and Water Treatment Plant will be completing a fire hydrant flush on Wednesday, August 9 & Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Flushing water lines through the use of fire hydrants is an important routine maintenance to help provide the best quality water and to maintain the integrity of the water system.
Water customers may notice water running down the streets and may experience some discoloration in the tap water as this maintenance project is being completed. The discoloration in the water is the result of fine sediment and particles that are not hazardous.
If you experience discoloration in your tap water, please allow the water to run from your outside faucet for a few minutes to clear the discoloration. Contact Public Works at 719-539-6257 with any questions or concerns.
