Salida Fire collecting donations for 4th of July fireworks on Friday, June 27

Salida fire truck during 4th of July paradeThe City of Salida Fire Department will be out crisscrossing Salida streets in their fire trucks this Friday, June 27 from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. They will be accepting donations to support the Independence Day fireworks display. Please be aware that the fire truck sirens will be on and may startle children or pets.

The firefighters and fire trucks will crisscross all streets in town at some point during the evening. If you miss the fire truck while they are crisscrossing town Friday evening, Chief Doug Bess will be at the fire station; he can be reached at 719-539-2212 and will arrange to have a truck go back to your home or business.  Also, if you are not home that evening, donations are welcome at the fire department at 124 E Street. Please consider a donation to make sure fireworks light up the sky for every 4th of July to come.

In addition to the community collection event this Friday, the Fire Department will have firework collection boots in local businesses starting Saturday, June 28. The boots will be in the local businesses through close of business on Thursday, July 3. Please consider making a donation when you see a Salida Fire boot.

Salida Fire thanks all in advance for their support of the Independence Day fireworks.
