Fireworks set to go off July 4th; closures on Spiral Drive July 3-5

The City of Salida Fire Department plans to set off a full fireworks display on Independence Day, Friday, July 4, 2014. This is the first time in three years that fireworks will happen on the 4th of July. Safety is a priority, and in accordance, Spiral Drive on Tenderfoot Mountain will be closed to ALL traffic—vehicle, bike, walking, etc.—starting Thursday evening, July 3 through Saturday, July 5 at noon. Please be aware that biking trails that cross Spiral Drive on Tenderfoot will be closed in order to ensure the safety of all involved.

The fireworks will commence at full dark on Friday, which is approximately 9:30 p.m.

Salida Fire would like to stress that fireworks can be very upsetting for pets, especially dogs. Please be sure to secure your pets during the fireworks show.

Salida Fire thanks all in advance for their consideration and patience with closures, and support of Independence Day fireworks.
