The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the City of Salida need citizens’ input to help create an updated vision and define the future of U.S. 50. Please fill out this survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/US50Salida by 5:00 p.m. May 2nd. Survey results and possible recommendations will be discussed at 6:00 p.m. May 15th at Salida City Council Chambers.
A recently completed speed study for U.S. 50 showed that drivers in the corridor are typically travelling 5 to 7 miles per hour above the posted speed limit. This information requires CDOT to increase the posted speed limit in the corridor – unless alterations are made to the existing configuration of the roadway that will change driver behavior.
CDOT and the City of Salida need your thoughts and comments about the best change to make to the corridor. Please head over to the City of Salida website and fill out the survey by 5:00 p.m. May 2nd. There is a link to the survey on the right side of the homepage under “Hot Topics”.
