Congratulations to Salida Area Parks Open Space & Trails (SPOT) for Josephine H. Miles Award Honorable Mention

The Miles and Bancroft Awards Committee at History Colorado has given the Salida Area Parks Open Space and Trails (SPOT) an honorable mention for this year’s Miles Award for the Hutchinson Homestead Preservation Project.

The committee mentioned in their award letter that the competition was stiff but they felt that the project did a good job linking the site and its buildings to the surrounding community, the parks & trails system and the idea of heritage tourism.

History Colorado, the state’s historical society, gives the Josephine H. Miles Award to organizations that make a major contribution to the advancement of Colorado history.

There will be an awards luncheon at the History Colorado Center, located at 1200 Broadway in Denver at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21 to honor this year’s winners.
