Chisholm Park, located at 324 Hunt Street in Salida, will be closed until late September while construction of the new indoor/outdoor pavilion takes place. Heavy equipment use and unsafe land conditions are the main causes for the closure. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of September.
The City of Salida has many other parks available in the area. Picketts Park is the triangle space located at A Street and Park Ave. This area offers a 1/4 basketball court and picnic table. Larger parks with more amenities located nearby are Riverside, Alpine and Centennial. These venues offer recreation opportunities for all ages. Sand volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds appropriate for young children, picnic tables and covered areas and plenty of open space for games and family get-togethers.
