The Soaring Society of Boulder will hold their annual soaring camp over Labor Day weekend at Harriet Alexander Field Airport. This annual camp has been held at Harriet Alexander Field for at least the past 11 years.
Members will begin arriving on Thursday, August 30th and will leave Sept. 2 or 3, depending on weather related soaring conditions. During the same weekend, the Civil Air Patrol will be present and working on glider familiarization for their Cadet Wing. There will be some self-launching gliders in the group but most will be launched by being towed by powered aircraft.
This event is open to the public, but attendees will need to check in at the terminal to be identified and given rules concerning conduct, aircraft and airport operations. Towing operations usually begin at around 11:00 a.m., weather permitting.
