City and local businesses raised over $3,000 for the Red Cross

The City of Salida, in collaboration with several local businesses, collected $3,278.63 for the American Red Cross. Money collected will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which assists people affected by disasters like the Waldo Canyon and High Park Fires.

We’d like to thank Doug Constance, local Red Cross representative, for all of his help in facilitating the fundraiser, which began June 20 and ended August 1. We’d also like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their support in hosting donation cans and organizing fundraising events.

Thank you: High Country Bank, Nicole Balaun with Su Casa! Furniture, Accents and Gifts, Salida Zumba teacher Amanda Wright, Vicki Sue Vigil, Ploughboy, Amicas Pizza & Brewery, Elks Lodge, Shallots, The Mixing Bowl, Salida Medical & Respiratory, Chaffee County Public Health, Salida Golf Course, Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center and Laurie Todesco with the Salida Fire Department.

It’s great to see the community come together and support a good cause!
