Fire Personnel Respond to Smoke on Methodist Mountain

Salida Fire, Chaffee County Fire, and Chaffee County Sheriff’s Department personnel have responded to reports of smoke on Methodist Mountain. Interim Salida Fire Chief Doug Bess said, “At this point, nothing is confirmed. We are currently patrolling the subdivisions along Methodist Mountain. We are also working the U.S. Forest Service. They have a helicopter en route to fly the area and check the spots where smoke was reported.”
