Wastewater Treatment Operator

The City of Salida Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Public Works department is seeking an Operator to join our team! 

Operator D, C, B and A candidates will be considered, see the full job description below for education and experience requirements for each Operator level.

This position performs a variety of skilled technical duties and semi-skilled labor related to the operation and maintenance of the City’s waste water treatment plant including bar screens, clarifiers, SCADA systems, IFAS treatment processes, anaerobic digestion, and bio-solids processes.  Plant operators are expected to perform with increasing independence and to handle issues of greater complexity and responsibility levels as certification increases. As a member of the public works organization, this position may be called out to assist with other City infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects from time to time. Must be able to work nights, shifts, holidays, weekends as assigned.

Salary Range, dependent on certification level: 

Operator Class D $38,958 to $54,558 Annually. Hiring range up to $51,433.

Operator Class C $45,375 to $63,526 Annually. Hiring range up to $59,895.

Operator Class B $51,304 to $71,825 Annually. Hiring range up to $67,720.

Operator Class A $56,596 to $79,248 Annually. Hiring range up to $74,725.
